Information for applicants
The maximum EU co-financing rate for Nature and Biodiversity LIFE projects is 60% of the total eligible project costs (75% for priority habitats or species of the Birds and Habitats Directives) and 55% for Environment and resource efficiency, Environmental Governance and Information and all Climate action projects.
The Lithuanian national co-financing can cover up to 25% (up to 35% in an exceptional case for priority species and habitats and up to 40% for integrated projects) of the total eligible project costs.
The guidance document on the national co-financing for LIFE projects was issued by the legal act No D1-424 of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania on 30th May 2018:

Each year the Ministry of Environment announces the call for proposals of national co-financing for LIFE projects. In 2018 the call was published on 4th of June and the deadline to submit an application for Climate and integrated projects for national co-financing was the 16th of July. For the application of LIFE sub-programme for Environment which is being held in two stages in 2018, applications for national co-financing should be submitted not later than 23rd of November (within 15 working days after the invitation from EASME to submit full proposal for successful concept notes).
All public and private entities registered in the Republic of Lithuania may apply for the Lithuanian national co-financing. If a coordinating beneficiary of a LIFE project is not registered in Lithuania, the application for co-financing must be submitted by an associated beneficiary, registered in Lithuania. And only the costs that are eligible according to LIFE guidelines may be co-financed by Lithuanian national co-financing.
To apply for LIFE Lithuanian national co-financing, the applicant has to provide project‘s application form to the Ministry of Environment according to the form provided in Annex 1 of the guidance document (English version of the application form).
