LIFE Baltic networking meeting 2018

The third annual LIFE Baltic networking meeting will take place in Lithuania on the 20th and 21st of September. This meeting is a great opportunity for the LIFE community to meet and discuss the implementation, issues of LIFE projects. The event is an opportunity for all those in the Baltic Sea region working with LIFE programme to meet one another and exchange experiences, it is a networking opportunity for current and future projects as well as a chance to learn more about what happens in neighbor countries. The event will be attended by LIFE projects', capacity building projects' groups of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Denmark, LIFE NCP of all Baltic states. There will be a mix of field trips to local LIFE projects and other places of interest, and work at the main venue - Amberton Hotel Klaipėda. Field trips will include visiting Lithuanian LIFE project LIFEMagniDucatusAcrola LIFE15 NAT/LT/001024 (biomass processing plant, educational trail through the habitat of aquatic warbler), Ventes Ragas Ornithological station (excursion, migratory bird watching, museum). Call for 2018 Lithuanian LIFE co-financing announced!

Each year the Ministry of Environment announces the call for proposals of national co-financing for LIFE projects. In 2018 the call was published on 4th of June and the deadline to submit an application for Climate and integrated projects for national co-financing was the 16th of July. For the application of LIFE sub-programme for Environment which is being held in two stages in 2018, applications for national co-financing should be submitted within two weeks after the first stage notification from EASME (expected in October). All public and private entities registered in the Republic of Lithuania may apply for the Lithuanian national co-financing. If a coordinating beneficiary of a LIFE project is not registered in Lithuania, the application for co-financing must be submitted by an associated beneficiary, registered in Lithuania. And only the costs that are eligible according to LIFE guidelines may be co-financed by Lithuanian national co-financing. To apply for LIFE Lithuanian national co-financing, the applicant has to provide project‘s application form to the Ministry of Environment according to the form provided in Annex 1 of the guidance document.

LIFE Info Day 2018 – on the 25th of April

As every year, this spring we will invite you to attend the LIFE Information Day, which is scheduled on the25th of April, 2018 in Vilnius (Best Western Vilnius (Konstitucijos pr. 14). During the information day, you will find out useful information about the 2018 LIFE Call and LIFE programme novelties. You will have the opportunity to communicate with LIFE project coordinators and applicants.

The search for solutions of the transport caused air pollution

On the 22d of February, 2018, Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania and Lithuanian LIFE Capacity building project organize a conference about the sustainable mobility in the city. During the conference, one of LIFE programme thematic priorities will be presented – ‚Implementation of integrated urban policies and regulatory approaches for sustainable planning and design and/or for supporting innovative technical solutions‘. Organisations will be introduced to LIFE programme opportunities and encouraged to participate. Representatives from Lithuanian municipalities, NGOs, active communities are invited to attend, registration is mandatory. Lithuanian LIFE IP project commences

First Lithuanian LIFE Integrated Project “Optimizing the management of Natura 2000 network in Lithuania” (LIFE-IP PAF-NATURALIT) started on the 1st of January 2018. The project aims to implement the Prioritised Action Framework (PAF) for the Natura 2000 network management. The duration of the project is 10 years with the budget of 17.000.044 Eur.

LIFE programme – for the uptake of results of Horizon 2020 projects

On the 14th of December Research Council of Lithuania (LMT) and Lithuanian RDI Liaison Office (LINO) invited science, business, public sector representatives to the information event. The lecturers introduced new Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 5 'Climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials' (SC5) work programmes and their calls for applications.
